Each day is charted out on page 5 of your booklet. If you see that you are missing a day you will be able to find it below. Day 1: Art 101 Intro

Step 1: Complete pretest on pg.8 - 9 in your yellow booklet.

Day 2: LINE

Step 1: Watch the LINE video to the left.
Step 2: Answer the questions on pg.15 in your booklet. All questions are found in the video: re-watch, pause, and use subtitles if necessary to find all the answers. Line Practice: pg.15
On pages 11-13 you will find our project planner. Each project you will complete one of these. If you are struggling finding a theme you can look at page 10 in your booklet or click here. Instructions: Read through the slides to the left. Have a conversation with Sam or Michel so you have a clear vision of what you will do for your project. Day 3: FORM

Day 6: COLOR

Color Practice: Using colored pencils, crayons, or oil pastels fill in the color wheel on pg.19. Then answer the questions next to the color wheel Essential Question: How does color impact mood? Day 7: Critique -Day student will need to make up this day in class.
Day 8: SHAPE

Step 1: Watch the video on SHAPE to the left. Step 2: Answer the questions on pg.21. All questions are found in the video: re-watch, pause, and use subtitles if necessary to find all the answers. Practice SHAPE: On pg.21 practice drawing shapes. Draw 2 geometrical and 2 organic shapes and label them. Then draw your hand using basic shapes like the artist in the video drew the bowl of fruit. (ex. below the video) Start out with basic shapes and refine it till it look like the hand. Practice both of the examples and then do one drawing your own hand. Day 9: Project 1 completed/ Intro to Unit2/ Project Planner-By this time you should have your first project completed in class. Make sure you have participated in a classroom critique and fill out the Project Self Evaluation/ Reflection on pg.22 in your booklet. Start planning your next project on pg26.
Day 10: SPACE

Day12: Texture

Day 13: Watercolor

Step 1: Gather your materials. You will need a watercolor pallet, a paint brush, paper towel, cup of water. You may do this in your booklet or on thicker piece of paper.

Day 14: Critique Day- Student will need to make this day up in class
Day 15: Acrylic

Step 1: Watch the video to the left on acrylic painting.
Step 2: Answer the following questions. 1. What did you observe about the paint in this video? How is her space set up? What do you see? 2. What are some different techniques that artist used? Example: The artist used paper towel to blot away excess water. 3. How did artist use gravity in this painting? Now look around our art room. 4. Where are the acrylic paints stored? 5. Day 16: Oil Pastels

Day 18: Wire Sculpture

Practice Mixed Media: In your booklet on pg.40 experiment with different mediums to see how they work together. This may be anything you are interested in work with, the goal is to get comfortable with may different kinds of supplies. |
Day 2: Repurposed Art

Step 2: Answer the following questions in your booklet on pg.40.
Reflect on Repurposed art: In your booklet reflect how you have repurosed something into a new piece of artwork or how you have seen some else do it? Do you think that repurposing something is a low or high act of creativity, and why? |

Day 23: Additive and Subtractive
Congratulations you made it! If you have all your projects, checklist and most importantly all of your self evaluations done, you have completed ART101. Your exit ticket for the class is to answer the following question: Looking back over the past 9weeks what are some ways you could've added and subtracted to your; artwork, critiques, and participation to make it more of a quality learning and classroom experience? |
